It is also widely used to accentuate lasers and lighting elements during an event, although a haze machine is preferable for that.

Generally, the dry ice machine is placed beside the stage, dancefloor or the area it is meant to cover and is best used indoors or typically in less wind. A dry ice machine is much smaller than a low fog generator, so it can be tucked away and then moved to the stage or dancefloor for use and then moved back to its position away from audience view.
